Waste Collection in Sarasota Paused for Labor Day Weekend

County officials have announced that all services will be unavailable on Monday, September 1, due to the holiday observance. Regular operations will recommence on Tuesday, September 2, and continue for the rest of the week.

This closure also applies to the City of Sarasota.

In addition, the Central County Landfill will also be closed starting Monday, September 1. It will reopen on Saturday, September 6, operating until 5 p.m. on that day. Please note that the Construction and Demolition area will close earlier at 2 p.m.

For those unloading materials by hand, it is advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before the closing time.
