Victims of Sarasota County House Party Shooting Named by Sheriff

SARASOTA, FL — Investigators have confirmed the identities of the two individuals involved in a shooting early Saturday morning at a house party in Sarasota.

Sambo Ung, a resident of Sarasota, succumbed to his injuries from the incident, as reported by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

The second victim has been identified as Tony J. Register, also from Sarasota.

Authorities responded to a report of a disturbance at a home located in the 2200 block of Hammock Place shortly before 3 a.m. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, it was discovered that two individuals had been shot during a confrontation at the party.

Following a thorough examination of the crime scene over the weekend, detectives are currently analyzing nearby surveillance footage in hopes of finding and interviewing attendees of the event.
