Venice Firm Purchases Sarasota Lighting Company

A Venice company specializing in outdoor aluminum enclosures has expanded its offerings by acquiring a fellow Sarasota County business, a move officials expect will significantly enhance their product lineup.

Commercial Residential Aluminum, located on Triple Diamond Boulevard in Venice, has acquired American Lightscapes, situated on Porter Lake Drive near the Celery Fields.

The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

American Lightscapes excels in blending landscaping with architectural lighting, providing innovative illumination for both residential and commercial properties, according to its website.

On the other hand, Commercial Residential Aluminum designs and constructs patio and pool enclosures, fencing, screen rooms, gutters, carports, railings, and various other exterior products tailored for residential and commercial clients.

“Lighting is a complementary addition to our core enclosure product line,” said Doug Sorantino, CEO of Commercial Residential Aluminum. “The combination will provide enhanced offerings for our customers in the near-term across our portfolio of exterior aluminum product solutions.”

This acquisition marks the first growth initiative since the North Carolina-based holding company Garden City Equity and a co-investor took a majority stake in Commercial Residential Aluminum earlier this summer. At that time, the founder expressed optimism that the investment would facilitate the company’s continued expansion. In addition to its original location in Venice, Commercial Residential Aluminum also maintains offices in Valrico and Fort Myers.
