Two Teens Dead and Two Hospitalized in Manatee County Crash: FHP Looking into Incident

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. –
A tragic accident has claimed the lives of two teens and left two others hospitalized after a Dodge Charger driver lost control and slammed into several trees, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

• Location: Silverleaf Ave., near US-301
• Time: Approximately 2:15 a.m. on Saturday
• Casualties: Two 19-year-olds dead, one 17-year-old male critically injured, one 16-year-old female seriously injured
• Seatbelt Use: Only the 16-year-old female was wearing a seatbelt

According to troopers, the four teens were speeding south on Silverleaf Ave. when the crash occurred.

First responders pronounced the driver and a passenger—both 19 years old—dead at the scene. A 17-year-old male from Parrish is reported to be in critical condition, while a 16-year-old female passenger from New York is in serious condition; she was the only individual in the vehicle wearing a seatbelt.
