Two Teenagers Taken Into Custody Following Armed Robbery of Woman in Bradenton Community

Date:

On February 25, the Bradenton Police Department (BPD) responded to a 911 call regarding an unsettling incident at the River Trace apartment complex. A victim reported that two teenagers had approached her, asking for a ride, which she declined. Following her refusal, the situation escalated when the teenagers brandished a firearm and forcibly took her purse.

The victim provided detailed descriptions of the suspects, leading BPD patrol and Crime Reduction Team officers to search the area. They managed to locate one of the suspects—a 17-year-old from Clearwater—hiding in a wooded section behind the complex. In addition, officers discovered two backpacks nearby, tucked away behind an apartment building. These bags contained an assortment of stolen electronics, 258 grams of marijuana, and a firearm previously reported stolen in Manatee County.

Further investigations by detectives identified the second suspect as Jeremiah Williams, a 19-year-old from Bradenton. Williams ultimately turned himself in to BPD on March 2.

Both individuals—one a juvenile and the other an adult—have been charged with armed robbery with a firearm. The investigation remains ongoing.
