LEE COUNTY, FL — Early Tuesday morning, a semi tractor-trailer truck was involved in a hit-and-run incident on Interstate 75 in Lee County, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The collision occurred when the truck, which had been parked on the highway’s outside shoulder just north of Exit 143, re-entered the northbound travel lanes.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., an SUV driven by a man from Bradenton was traveling north on I-75. The SUV collided with the back of the trailer as it moved into the driving lane, leading to the incident. Following the crash, the truck continued northbound on the interstate, and the identity of the truck’s driver remains unknown.

The 34-year-old driver of the SUV sustained only minor injuries in the accident, according to FHP reports.
