This Florida city ranks as the most ‘itchy’ in the country, according to research.

Ivarest, known for its topical products that alleviate itching, has published a study identifying the
“itchiest” cities in the U.S.

To compile this study, researchers conducted a survey involving 1,000 Americans, focusing on their
experiences with outdoor skin irritants.

“To better understand where Americans face the worst backyard battles, we ranked major U.S. cities
using five itch-related factors,” the study explains.

The five factors assessed were:

  Seasonal allergies

  Number of pest control businesses listed on Yelp

  Online search interest in bug spray

• 
  Online search interest in poison ivy remedies

• 
  State-level prevalence of poison ivy

The report indicated that Sarasota, FL, ranks as the itchiest city in the United States, largely due
to a high number of pest control company listings and significant bug spray search interest.

“Sarasota, FL, ranked No. 1 overall as the itchiest city in our study, coming in first for pest
control company listings and fourth for bug spray search interest. This Florida community is clearly
invested in keeping bugs at bay.

Poughkeepsie, NY, placed second overall, ranking high for both poison ivy treatment searches and
pest control access. Harrisburg, PA, Atlanta, GA, and Greenville, SC, rounded out the top five,
all being hotspots for seasonal irritants and pest concerns.”
