Cortez, FL – On October 20, 2025, join us at the Swordfish Grill and Tiki in Cortez, Florida for a heartfelt evening titled “Giving Back: A Night for Charlee & Nova.” This special event aims to raise funds and awareness for two young sisters whose lives were changed forever after their mother’s tragic death due to a drunk driving incident last November.
Charlee and Nova are vibrant young girls whose story has touched the community deeply. The Suncoast region is rallying to provide support and show these sisters they are not alone.
The evening promises live music from Kettle of Fish, a beloved band known for their unique combination of blues, rock, and roots. They will be joined by special guest Tim “TC” Chandler, a local favorite known for his passion and talent. The event is sponsored by Clancy’s Irish Sports Pub and 88 Live in Bradenton.
Event organizer Sande Caplin, also the publisher of The Suncoast Post, emphasizes, “This is more than just a concert. It’s about love, community, and healing. We’ve all been heartbroken by what happened to these girls. On October 20, we come together to lift them up emotionally and spiritually.”
The event will be held at the Swordfish Grill & Tiki, located at 4628 119th St W, Cortez, FL 34215. Known for its scenic waterfront setting, this venue is a cherished part of the Cortez community and will host an evening of music, food, drinks, with a raffle and silent auction featuring generous donations from local businesses. This benefit is presented by The Swordfish Grill, Sande Caplin & Associates, and The Suncoast Post.
