SPD probes a shooting incident from Sunday morning.

Sarasota Police are investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning, August 31, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to a man.

The incident took place in the 1100 block of North Washington Boulevard.

Initial reports from the Sarasota Police Department indicate that a fight broke out among several groups outside. Suspect Grevil Vicente Bonilla Enamorado, 29, allegedly drew a firearm and opened fire.

Witnesses intervened and detained the suspect until law enforcement arrived. Currently, there is no known connection between the suspect and the victims.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured man has been taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

The suspect now faces charges of homicide and aggravated battery with a firearm.
