Shooting in Sarasota results in woman’s death and man’s injuries

Sarasota Police officers have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting that left one person dead and another seriously injured during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Grevil Vicente Bonilla Enamorado, 29, allegedly drew a gun and opened fire during a confrontation on August 31 around 3:15 a.m. The incident took place in the 1100 block of North Washington Boulevard, where one woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A male victim was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and is currently in stable condition, according to police reports.

According to a news release from the Sarasota Police Department, multiple witnesses intervened, detaining Enamorado until officers arrived on the scene.

Currently, the authorities have not established any known relationship between the suspect and the victims.

Enamorado has been charged with homicide and aggravated battery with a firearm. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
