Under the artistic guidance of Victor DeRenzi and general director Richard Russell, this milestone season is set to showcase an engaging array of classic operas, celebrated vocalists, and captivating new productions.

The season kicks off with Mozart’s cherished comedy Così fan tutte, premiering on October 31, 2025. This beloved fall production features soprano Hanna Brammer as Fiordiligi, Olivia Vote as Dorabella, and Jake Stamatis, who will make his role debut as Don Alfonso. Performed in Italian with English translations, the show will run until November 15.

Next, the Winter Opera Festival opens on February 14, 2026, with Puccini’s romantic classic La bohème. Soprano Ashley Milanese takes on the role of Mimì, joined by tenor Woo Young Yoon in his Sarasota debut as Rodolfo. The ensemble cast also includes Filippo Fontana (Marcello), Virginia Mims (Musetta), and Young Bok Kim (Colline).

Following that, Lehár’s delightful operetta The Merry Widow will debut on February 21 in a new English-language production featuring surtitles. Raquel González stars as Hanna Glawari, supported by Jake Stamatis as Danilo and Sara Kennedy as Valencienne. This vibrant production, conducted by Anthony Barrese and directed by Katherine M. Carter, is scheduled to run through March 27.

On March 7, Verdi’s powerful Il trovatore will be performed, showcasing a stellar cast including Aviva Fortunata (Leonora), Lisa Chavez (Azucena), Victor Starsky (Manrico), and Ricardo José Rivera (Count di Luna).

Finally, the season will conclude with Susannah, a moving American opera composed by Carlisle Floyd. Launching on March 14, this production honors the composer’s centennial, with Hanna Brammer taking on the title role. Directed by Martha Collins and conducted by Jessé Martins, the show will run until March 29.
