SARASOTA, Fla. – Authorities have arrested a suspect over a week following a fatal shooting in Sarasota, as reported by deputies.
According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Trae Ward has been taken into custody and is facing homicide charges.
The backstory:
The incident occurred on May 1 in the 2500 block of Colson Avenue, where deputies discovered 45-year-old Reginald Graves with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Graves was transferred to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to deputies.
