Program Two commences with Sir Frederick Ashton’s Valses nobles et sentimentales, a romantic ballet that was lost for twenty-five years until its revival by The Sarasota Ballet in 2012. Following this enchanting piece, the program will feature a World Premiere by the renowned choreographer Ashley Page. Having danced with The Royal Ballet and served as the Artistic Director of the Scottish Ballet, this collaboration marks The Sarasota Ballet’s inaugural work with Page. To conclude the evening, the audience will enjoy a return of Mark Morris’ The Letter V, with The New York Times praising him as “a choreographer alive with a higher reputation for musicality” cultivated over three decades of innovative creativity.
