BRADENTON, Fla. — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that unfolded during a standoff in Bradenton, resulting in one death. At roughly 6 p.m. on September 10, deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of 63rd Ave. W. to execute a search warrant linked to an ongoing armed robbery investigation.

Upon their arrival, deputies encountered a person behind a closed door who opened fire on them, which necessitated the deployment of the SWAT team. Reports indicate that during negotiations with the barricaded individual, the suspect fired additional shots at the deputies. In response, SWAT members returned fire, fatally wounding the suspect.
