The damage occurred during a weekend marked by threats of lightning, heavy rain, flooding, and strong winds in the Tampa Bay area.

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A significant “wind event” on Sunday resulted in damage at a mobile home park in Manatee County, as reported by fire rescue officials.

According to crews from the North River Fire District, they were summoned after receiving reports of a tornado impacting Shadow Brook Mobile Home Park, located on 63rd St. E in Palmetto. Upon their arrival, they discovered that powerful winds had torn off several carport roofs, scattering them across the park.

Images and videos captured by 10 Tampa Bay News crews at the site reveal that the roof of a mobile home was entirely ripped off. This destruction occurred amid ongoing threats of lightning, intense rainfall, flooding, and gusty winds across the Tampa Bay region over the weekend.

As of 7:00 p.m. Sunday, the county’s emergency management team was actively working to clear the roof debris from the area.

According to NRFD, crews conducted door-to-door checks in the neighborhood to ensure safety, and, thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
