Naples Hooters Delivers Books and Lunch to Bonita Springs Cancer Center in Monthly Community Initiative

Date:

Naples Hooters actively supports the local community through its impactful monthly outreach to the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Cancer Clinic at the Bonita Community Health Center. On the first Monday of every month, Hooters team members bring nourishment and encouragement to patients and staff at the clinic.

This month, Kelly Deihl from Fort Myers Hooters and Jaimee Howes from Naples Hooters replenished the Hootie’s Lending Library cart with a new assortment of books, adult coloring materials, and puzzles. The fresh additions included novels, word searches, crayons, colored pencils, and markers, all carefully selected to help patients during treatment.

In addition to refreshing the library, the team provided a delicious lunch of wings and sliders to the hardworking clinic staff as a gesture of gratitude.

“This was my first time bringing food to the Bonita Community Health Center Clinic,” remarked Deihl. “Every time I participate in Hooters initiatives beyond the store, I’m reminded of how involved we are. The employees expressed immense gratitude. I hope they really felt appreciated.”

The monthly visits are part of the Hootie’s Lending Library program, created to supply books and entertainment for patients in hospitals and clinics across Southwest Florida. South Florida Hooters Director of Marketing, Kristi Quarles, noted, “Our employees, including Kelly and Jaimee, eagerly anticipate these visits. We take pride in offering reading materials and activities that provide comfort and distraction to patients, alongside meals for the diligent staff.”

Since its launch in 2022, Hootie’s Lending Library has donated over 13,600 books to healthcare facilities in South Florida, including the Lee Regional Cancer Center in Fort Myers and the Bonita Springs Cancer Clinic.

The monthly outreach underscores Hooters’ ongoing commitment to give back to the community—not just with meals, but through substantial moments that uplift patients and support healthcare heroes.
