BRADENTON, Fla. — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has announced the arrest of a 27-year-old woman, Courtney Faith Stanley, who fled during a theft investigation at a Walmart in Bradenton. The incident occurred on August 5, where Stanley was seen leaving the scene with her 2-year-old daughter, Amara, unrestrained in the vehicle. During her getaway, she struck a deputy, heightening concerns for the child’s safety.
Authorities later indicated that the child was at risk due to Stanley’s reckless actions. Following her departure, she was located in Illinois before returning to Florida, where she was apprehended in Hillsborough County on Tuesday evening. Fortunately, Amara was unharmed and is now transitioning to the custody of the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
Stanley is facing several charges, including aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer (LEO), child abuse without bodily harm, and petit theft.

Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”
