Miami healthcare organization takes over Lakewood Ranch children’s medical practice.

A Miami health care group specializing in pediatric primary care has recently made a strategic move by acquiring a pediatric practice in Lakewood Ranch.

Pediatrica Health Group has finalized the acquisition of Capote Pediatrics, now renamed Pediatrica of Lakewood Ranch. The financial specifics of this transaction remain undisclosed.

Dr. Jessica Capote, the long-time owner of Capote Pediatrics, decided to sell her practice after two decades in order to pursue a teaching role as an assistant professor at the University of Florida. She specifically chose Pediatrica Health Group for the transition due to its dedication to patient families and personally selected her successor, Dr. Neta Strum, as stated in a recent announcement.

“As I step into the next chapter of teaching future physicians, it brings me peace and joy to know that Pediatrica and Dr. Strum will nurture the same values of care, compassion, and commitment that have always been at the center of this practice,” stated Capote.

Dr. Strum, a graduate of the University of Miami-Miller School of Medicine, brings over 20 years of pediatric care experience to her new role.

“From the moment Dr. Strum arrived at the practice, patients and staff were put at ease,” said Pediatrica CEO Roberto Palenzuela. “It was clear that the legacy of exemplary care Dr. Capote had worked so hard to build in the community would continue with Dr. Strum.”

Pediatrica Health Group operates 16 locations in Florida and two in Texas. The newly named Pediatrica of Lakewood Ranch is located at 6995 Professional Parkway E. This acquisition follows other expansions by the health group, including Pediatrica of Laurel Park in Sarasota, previously known as Meyer Pediatrics, and Pediatrica of South Bradenton, formerly Scarano & Taylor Pediatrics.
