Manatee County firm purchases screen-printing operation.

Date:

A Manatee County screen-printing company has been acquired by a business incubator located down the street. Public Products has taken over BC Sales. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

BC Sales is based at 1909 Whitfield Park Loop, where it operates an 18,000-square-foot warehouse performing contract work, creating custom apparel designs for businesses and organizations.

Since 1991, BC Sales has been providing printing and embroidery services to schools, nonprofits, municipalities and businesses across the Southeast, according to a statement.

“BC Sales brings craftsmanship, reliability and a strong reputation to the table,” Public Products founder Chris Abbott says in a statement. “Their team knows production. We know systems and scale. Together, we’re positioned to grow smarter and faster.”

As part of the acquisition, Public Products will invest in logistics, hiring and technology infrastructure at BC Sales. In the next several months, a new website, upgraded packaging, real-time printing updates and faster fulfillment options will be introduced, according to a statement.

Already, officials say, new staffing efforts are underway to meet rising demand. BC Sales had 15 employees at the time of the acquisition and plans to add five more over the next year, according to a Public Products spokesperson.

“Public Products isn’t just buying businesses — they’re building better ones,” BC Sales founder Bill Cournan says in a statement. “Their support means we can improve our systems and grow our team without sacrificing the consistency our customers expect.”

Cournan will continue with BC Sales as vice president of client success, leading client partnerships and growth opportunities.

Public Products is located 0.2 miles from BC Sales at 2121 Whitfield Park Dr. in Manatee County. Founded in 2021, the business incubator and software development company focuses on scalable ventures across the technology, consumer products and financial services sectors. Its portfolio includes software development firm Utilasoft, financial services company Budget Banking and steak seasoning Dusted, among others.
