BRADENTON, FL — Authorities are looking into a situation where a man shot his brother after the sibling allegedly stabbed his girlfriend Tuesday morning at a residence in Bradenton, as reported by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrived at a residence in the 5200 block of 60th Drive E., located in the Silver Lake neighborhood, shortly after 8 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found 21-year-old Dakota Hayes outside with two gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff’s office.
As deputies neared the residence, 24-year-old Willie Hayes emerged and informed them that he had shot his brother upon witnessing Dakota stab his girlfriend.

Upon entering the home, deputies discovered a 23-year-old woman in a bedroom suffering from multiple stab wounds, as stated by the SCSO.
Both the woman and Dakota were transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. They are currently hospitalized but are expected to survive, according to the sheriff’s office.
The motive for the altercation remains unclear, as per the investigators.
