Man Hospitalized Following Shooting by Manatee County Deputies

A 29-year-old man is critically injured but stable following a shooting involving deputies.

PARRISH, Fla. — Authorities report that a domestic disturbance call led to a shooting incident where deputies shot a man, identified as Hayden Firth, on Monday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. when law enforcement responded to a reported domestic dispute on Shimmering Amethyst Court in Parrish.

Upon their arrival, deputies encountered Firth outside the residence.

According to the sheriff’s office, Firth reportedly defied orders from deputies and brandished a firearm from his waistband, prompting them to discharge their weapons, firing three shots at him.

Firth was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Fortunately, no deputies sustained injuries during the encounter.
