Man Faces Homicide Charges Following Deadly Group Altercation, Says SPD

SARASOTA, Fla. — The Sarasota Police Department (SPD) has charged a man with homicide following a deadly altercation involving multiple groups of people on Sunday.

Grevil Vicente Bonilla Enamorado, aged 29, was arrested as a suspect in this case. According to a report from SPD, the incident took place just before 3:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Washington Boulevard (U.S. Highway 301).

An initial investigation revealed that a fight erupted outside among several groups, during which Enamorado brandished a firearm and discharged it. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and managed to detain Enamorado until police arrived on the scene.

Tragically, one woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and another man was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital in stable condition, as the report noted.

Authorities clarified that there is currently no evidence to suggest that Enamorado had prior knowledge of the victims.

Enamorado faces charges of homicide and aggravated battery with a firearm, and the investigation remains ongoing.
