BRADENTON, FL — A 39-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing incident that occurred early Saturday morning in Bradenton, according to a news release from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Jean Addition is accused of fatally stabbing 40-year-old Wednes Celophat during an altercation. Deputies responded to a home on the 400 block of 60th Avenue Drive East just after 2 a.m. and discovered both individuals with injuries.
Initial reports indicate that Cleophat sustained multiple stab wounds, while Addition had a laceration on his head. Both were subsequently taken to separate hospitals for medical treatment.
Sadly, Cleophat was pronounced dead approximately five hours later, around 7:15 a.m., at Blake Hospital. Witnesses reported that the altercation began as an argument between the two men.
According to the sheriff’s office, the argument escalated, leading Addition to stab Celophat multiple times during the confrontation.
Addition has been arrested and booked into the Manatee County Jail. The motive for their dispute remains unclear, and authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
