Police have charged a 30-year-old man with animal cruelty following a disturbing incident where he was recorded beating a 9-week-old puppy on surveillance footage.

BRADENTON, Fla. — Christian Cuello, aged 30, is facing legal consequences for allegedly mistreating a young puppy, after officers confirmed that he was caught on video committing the act.

Concerned employees at Kava Social Club brought their worries about the dog’s safety to the attention of a Bradenton police officer patrolling the downtown area.

Witnesses at the establishment observed Cuello grab the puppy by its neck and strike it in the face before leaving. This was highlighted in a post from the Bradenton police department.

The staff provided multiple video clips of the incident to the police. The officer recognized the dog and located its owner, who revealed that she had entrusted Cuello with its care.
