Manatee’s Second Community Input Meeting Scheduled for May 13
The upcoming Community Input Meeting in Manatee County is set for Tuesday, May 13, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at the Central Library located at 1301 Barcarrota Blvd W, Bradenton, FL 34205.
Manatee County has been allocated $252,711,000 in Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funds to aid in long-term recovery efforts from the storms Debby, Helene, and Milton that struck in 2024.
This is an essential opportunity for residents to voice their unmet needs and help shape a public action plan for the effective distribution of these funds.
During this public meeting, we will gather input from the community about their current challenges and solicit feedback on potential projects and programs that could facilitate disaster recovery.
The available funds can be utilized exclusively for initiatives directly related to the 2024 declared storms. Examples of eligible projects include restoration of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and stormwater systems, along with housing solutions, economic revitalization efforts, and mitigation strategies. The primary focus will be to assist low- to moderate-income communities.
