BRADENTON, Fla. — Detectives have closed an illegal gambling arcade in Bradenton, as announced by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on Friday.
Following a tip and undercover visits, detectives found that The Good Times Arcade, located at 105 Cortez Road West, was illegally operating electronic slot and gaming machines, according to MCSO.

On August 14, detectives seized 55 “full-style arcade-style video slot machines, 27 computers, and various electronic devices used for illegal gaming,” along with more than $160,000 in illegal proceeds.
MCSO reported that no arrests were made at the time, but the business owner is under investigation with charges pending.
Detectives had previously warned the management of Good Times Arcade by issuing a cease-and-desist letter before the raid, according to MCSO.
The investigation remains ongoing.
“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”

Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) suggests it could be time to eliminate homeowners associations entirely, as a growing number of Floridians express their concerns about increasing fees, expensive lawsuits, and even arrests related to HOA disputes. He mentioned this week that he is contemplating introducing legislation in the next session aimed at abolishing HOAs statewide.
