Governor Ron DeSantis Selects Karen Rose for Sarasota County School Board Position

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the appointment of Karen Rose to the School Board of Sarasota County, effective August 25, 2025.

Karen Rose is a former member of the Sarasota County School Board. She remains actively involved in her community, currently serving on the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota District Board of Trustees. Additionally, she has been associated with the Florida Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Rose holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in education from the University of South Florida.
