An undocumented immigrant in Florida, Carranza Dominguez, aged 38, was apprehended on Friday following a fatal hit-and-run incident in Manatee County. The police allege Dominguez was responsible for the death of a pedestrian during the crash, which has led to multiple charges being filed against him.

Among the charges are leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, driving without a license in relation to a death, and DUI. The event transpired on Friday night at the intersection of 15th Street East and 49th Avenue East.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim, a 46-year-old man, was traversing the northbound lane of 15th Street East when he was struck by Dominguez’s vehicle, which was also traveling in the same direction. After the collision, it is reported that Dominguez fled the scene.

In the aftermath of the hit-and-run, Dominguez was involved in a separate accident on Ninth Street East and again attempted to escape, this time on foot.

Law enforcement was quick to respond and apprehended him shortly after this second incident.
