FHP: Bradenton man apprehended after evading fatal collision, triggering another accident, and escaping on foot again

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man is an immigrant without legal status.

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A Bradenton man is now in custody after being arrested for fleeing the scene of a fatal accident on Friday night. After the initial incident, he caused a second crash and fled on foot, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The individual, 38-year-old Arnulfo Carranza Dominguez, is facing multiple charges, as outlined by FHP:

  • No driver’s license involving a death
  • Leaving the scene of a crash involving death
  • DUI (second refusal)
  • Leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage (second crash)
  • DUI property damage (second crash)
  • No driver’s license (second crash)
  • Violation of probation

FHP reports that Dominguez was driving his 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck north on 15th Street East in Bradenton when he struck a pedestrian, who later succumbed to injuries.

Following the incident, the pedestrian ended up in a ditch, while Dominguez fled the scene.

Shortly thereafter, Dominguez was involved in a second collision on 9th Street East near 44th Avenue East. After this crash, he fled on foot but was apprehended by law enforcement moments later.

Troopers arrested Dominguez and booked him into Manatee County Jail. It was also noted by FHP that Dominguez is an immigrant without legal status.

Although the identity of the deceased pedestrian has not been revealed, FHP confirmed he was a 46-year-old man from Bradenton.
