Miami-based affordable housing developer McDowell Housing Partners has finalized financing for the second phase of Ekos at Arbor Park, situated in North Port. This new development will provide 66 apartments aimed at families earning at or below 70% of the area median income in south Sarasota County.
Located at 1511 W Price Blvd., Ekos at Arbor Park II will feature three three-story buildings. The apartments will range from one to three bedrooms, measuring between 644 to 1,206 square feet. The plans include 36 one-bedroom units, 21 two-bedroom units, and nine three-bedroom units.
The community will offer amenities such as a playground, pet park, pet wash station, bike parking, and a courtyard. Conveniently located off West Price Boulevard near Toledo Blade Boulevard, it will be close to grocery stores, restaurants, medical facilities, and recreational options, as noted in a recent statement.
The project will be constructed by Clearwater-based Park & Eleazer, with FK Architecture from Maitland serving as the architect of record. Project officials anticipate that construction will wrap up by the fourth quarter of 2026.
While McDowell Housing Partners has not disclosed the specific financing amount, they have revealed that their financial partnerships include Truist Bank and its subsidiary Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, both based in North Carolina, as well as Fairview Housing Partners from New York.
Additionally, Ekos at Arbor Park II has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant from Sarasota County’s Resilient SRQ program, which allocates disaster recovery funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The new community will be adjacent to Ekos at Arbor Park, a $40 million project consisting of 136 units designed for residents aged 55 and older who earn between 20% and 70% of the area median income. McDowell Housing Partners completed that project earlier this year.
