PARRISH, FL — In a tense situation on Monday night, deputies were involved in a shooting while responding to a domestic disturbance, according to a report from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 10 p.m., law enforcement arrived at a residence located on the 13000 block of Shimmering Amethyst Court and encountered the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Hayden Firth, outside the property.
Ignoring commands from the deputies, Firth drew a firearm from his waistband, prompting deputies to return fire. As a result, Firth sustained three gunshot wounds.
Fortunately, no deputies were harmed during the confrontation.
Firth was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital and, as of Tuesday afternoon, was reported to be in critical but stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office.
