DESCRIPTION
A theatrical production of Naga-Mandala (Play with a Cobra) by Girish Karnad. This poetic play is filled with love, magic, and inspiration, featuring roles for actors and dancers of all ages. The production will include live original music, movement, acting, visual spectacle, and dance in a circus arena.
We are casting the male lead role of Appanna/Naga, intended for an actor with a background in musical theatre, dance, or movement. This role is rich in depth and pivotal to the story.
Local, non-union actors in the Sarasota, FL area are encouraged to submit resumes and video links, indicating availability for rehearsals from Jan. 17 to mid-March 2026. Appanna/Naga is a male role for actors in their 20s to 30s, capable of portraying a complex duality of cruelty and kindness.
