Casting and Hiring Coordinator

<p class="MsoNormal">Florida Studio Theatre (FST), a vibrant professional LORT D regional theatre, invites qualified individuals to apply for the role of Casting and Hiring Coordinator. Located in the heart of Downtown Sarasota, FST operates five theatres and presents over 20 productions each year.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">In this pivotal role, the Casting and Hiring Coordinator collaborates closely with the Producing Artistic Director to manage casting and hiring processes for all productions. Additionally, the Coordinator oversees the hiring of full-time and part-time staff.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><u>Responsibilities:</u></p>
<ul style="margin-top:0in;" type="disc">
    <li class="MsoNormal">Coordinate casting for various seasons including Winter Mainstage, Winter Cabaret, Stage III, and Summer Mainstage.<ul style="margin-top:0in;" type="disc">
        <li class="MsoNormal">Draft and distribute audition notices adhering to AEA and AGVA standards, focusing on diverse casting.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Prepare audition materials and manage booking for locations and personnel in Sarasota and NYC.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Conduct outreach to major U.S. markets (e.g., Chicago and LA) for audition submissions.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Organize and facilitate local auditions, including EPAs, callbacks, and understudy sessions.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Serve as the primary liaison between actors, agents, and FST, including contract negotiations.</li>
    </ul></li>

    <li class="MsoNormal">Manage advertisement, interviewing, and hiring of creative staff, including:<ul style="margin-top:0in;" type="disc">
        <li class="MsoNormal">Directors, Choreographers, Music Directors, Intimacy Coordinators, Fight Directors, and Musicians.</li>
    </ul></li>

    <li class="MsoNormal">Oversee staff hiring processes:<ul style="margin-top:0in;" type="disc">
        <li class="MsoNormal">Create and distribute job postings, ensuring approval from Department Heads.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Screen resumes and conduct first-round interviews.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Coordinate further interviews, reference checks, and advise candidates on the hiring process.</li>
    </ul></li>

    <li class="MsoNormal">Fulfill various additional duties:<ul style="margin-top:0in;" type="disc">
        <li class="MsoNormal">Maintain FST's Casting and Hiring web pages.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Manage the FST Housing Chart for actors and guest artists.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Track Staff Performance Planning Meetings.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Manage the Casting and Hiring Intern's schedule.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Assist with casting for FST's New Play Development department.</li>
    </ul></li>

<p class="MsoNormal"><u>Requirements:</u></p>
<ul style="margin-top:0in;" type="disc">
    <li class="MsoNormal">Minimum 3 years of professional theatre experience, preferably in a regional setting.</li>
    <li class="MsoNormal">Ability to manage multiple, fast-paced projects efficiently.</li>
    <li class="MsoNormal">Proficient in providing direction in audition settings.</li>
    <li class="MsoNormal">Strong administrative skills are essential:<ul style="margin-top:0in;" type="disc">
        <li class="MsoNormal">Proficient typing skills.</li>
        <li class="MsoNormal">Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and databases.</li>
    </ul></li>
    <li class="MsoNormal">Skilled in relationship-building with local and national actors and creatives.</li>
    <li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with union guidelines (LORT, AEA, AGVA) is a plus.</li>
    <li class="MsoNormal">Experience with casting processes and networks is advantageous.</li>
