A 38-year-old man from Bradenton, Arnulfo Carranza Dominguez, was arrested following a tragic incident that occurred Friday evening, where he is accused of crashing into and killing a pedestrian.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Dominguez was driving his 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck when the accident happened at approximately 8:02 p.m. The victim, a 46-year-old man, was walking in the northbound lane of 15th Street East near 49th Avenue East at the time of the collision. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

Dominguez reportedly fled the scene of the initial crash before hitting another vehicle near the intersection of Ninth Street East and 44th Avenue East. Following this, he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, but was apprehended later that evening.
The Florida Highway Patrol noted that Carranza Dominguez is living in the U.S. illegally. He faces multiple charges, including leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in death, driving under the influence, and violation of probation.
As of now, Carranza Dominguez is being held at the Manatee County Jail without bond, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
