Bank of America announces a new leader for the Sarasota/Manatee market.

Stephenie Whitfield has been appointed as president of Bank of America Sarasota/Manatee, continuing her dual role as business banking market executive for Southwest Florida.

Whitfield’s new appointment comes as Erik Vatter, the market’s previous leader since 2022, transitions to his role as a Merrill senior financial advisor.

In her role as president, Whitfield will enhance connections among clients, teams, and communities, drive integration across the bank’s eight lines of business, and lead efforts to expand market share.

“Stephenie is well positioned to build on Erik’s success and continue to grow our market share,” said Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan.

Whitfield brings over 25 years of experience in financial services, having previously owned a financial consulting firm and worked in commercial banking and Small Business Administration lending. Since joining Bank of America in 2016, she has held various leadership roles, including commercial credit executive for the Southeast and business banking market manager for Tennessee.

Whitfield became Bank of America’s business banking market executive for Southwest Florida in 2022, leading a team that serves U.S.-based companies from startups to those with $50 million in annual revenue.
