SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — An unidentified man tragically passed away on Sunday afternoon after being rescued from the Gulf waters near Beach Access 9 on Siesta Key, as confirmed by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).

Deputies reported that emergency crews were alerted to 514 Beach Road around 2:21 p.m. after locals successfully pulled the unresponsive swimmer from the water. Despite first responders’ life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident and are working diligently to ascertain the victim’s identity.
