SARASOTA, Fla. — Authorities in Sarasota County are actively searching for a suspect involved in a bank robbery that occurred on Friday.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) indicated that deputies were dispatched to the USF Credit Union located in the 3400 block of Clark Road in Sarasota following a report of the robbery.
According to officials, the incident took place just before 3 p.m., when a dark-skinned male entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. The SCSO reports that the suspect then fled northbound toward Bronx Avenue with an undisclosed sum of cash.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
The suspect was captured on surveillance footage.
The SCSO is reaching out to the community for assistance, urging anyone with potential information about the robbery to contact the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section at 941-861-4900 or CrimeStoppers at 941-366-8477.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) stated that it may be time to eliminate homeowners associations entirely, as many Floridians have voiced concerns regarding escalating fees, costly lawsuits, and arrests related to HOA conflicts. He mentioned this week that he is contemplating introducing legislation in the next session aimed at abolishing HOAs statewide.
