NORTH PORT, Fla. (WFLA) — The North Port Police Department has officially announced the closure of a local drug house, resulting from the operation dubbed ‘Operation Bad Baby.’
The investigation was extensive, culminating in a successful execution of a search warrant on Monday at a property located in the 2000 block of Alliance Ave.
To ensure safety and thoroughness, the NPPD called in backup. Residents noted a significant law enforcement presence, which included multiple SWAT teams, K-9 units, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The peculiar name of the operation references one of the suspects involved, 45-year-old Jasiel “Baby” Izaguirre Rodriguez. He was apprehended alongside 46-year-old Jennifer Pardy.
During the operation, authorities recovered a staggering amount of illegal items: 1.5 pounds of cocaine, MDMA, Psilocybin mushrooms, various THC products, anabolic steroids, illegal prescription pills, and 24 firearms.
Pardy faces serious charges, including trafficking cocaine, multiple counts of selling controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and using a structure for drug trafficking, as well as committing a first-degree felony with a weapon.
Izaguirre Rodriguez also faces charges of trafficking cocaine, numerous counts of selling controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and committing a first-degree felony with a weapon. Additionally, he is charged with disturbing the peace and possessing firearms as a convicted felon.
According to records from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Izaguirre Rodriguez is currently being held for ICE; however, further details regarding his citizenship status remain undisclosed.
