SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — The City of Venice is set to operate a self-service sandbag station for residents on Sunday, August 10. This initiative aims to assist homeowners in Sarasota County as they prepare for potential flooding and storm impacts during hurricane season.
Residents are invited to fill their own sandbags and load them into their vehicles for protection against the impending weather challenges. It’s essential to bring your own shovel, although a limited number will be provided on-site. Sandbags will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of 10 bags allowed per vehicle.

All sandbag stations will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for residents who cannot visit on August 10. The county will host another sandbag event on Sunday, September 14, at the same locations and times.
