A Sarasota man has been taken into custody and faces 13 charges of possession of child pornography, according to the Sarasota Police Department.
In March, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force reached out to Sarasota Police detectives following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
The tip indicated that two files believed to contain child pornography had been uploaded from a residence located in the 1900 block of Tulip Drive in Sarasota.
After several months of investigation and surveillance, a search warrant was executed on August 8 at the home of 29-year-old Colton Berman, where it was alleged the videos were uploaded, according to police.
Items taken from the residence included additional explicit images and videos, along with chat logs showing Berman requesting and sharing child pornography, police stated.
Berman was arrested on August 14 and subsequently booked into the Sarasota County Jail, though he has since been released on bond.
