A 29-year-old man from Sarasota, Colton Berman, has been apprehended on 13 charges of possessing child pornography. He was arrested on August 14 and taken to the Sarasota County Jail, but has since been released on bail.
In March 2025, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force alerted Sarasota Police detectives following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. This tip suggested that two files believed to contain child pornography were uploaded from a residence on Tulip Drive in Sarasota. Detectives examined the videos and confirmed the presence of child pornography.
Following months of investigation and surveillance, a search warrant was executed on August 8 at the location where the videos were uploaded. A digital forensic analysis of electronic devices confiscated during the search uncovered more explicit images and videos, along with chat logs where Berman solicited and distributed child pornography.
