Lansing Building Products, a prominent national wholesale building materials company based in Virginia, has recently opened a new branch in North Port, situated in south Sarasota County.
The company has secured a lease for 65,000 square feet at North Port Business Park, which features a dedicated showroom alongside its warehouse.
Based in Richmond, Lansing supplies a variety of products for contractors, including windows and roofing materials, operating 114 branches across 35 states.
According to the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County, this expansion not only enhances the logistics and distribution industry in the region but also creates 15 new jobs for the City of North Port.
The North Port branch, which officially opened on September 15, marks Lansing’s 12th location in Florida, as noted by Branch Manager Krystine Kauffman in a recent email.
“While we are still in the process of finalizing our showroom,” Kauffman mentions, “it is currently open as the primary customer entrance. We are also working on adding displays that highlight home accents and protective features, with all enhancements expected to be completed by year-end.”
Located at 1122 Panacea Blvd., the North Port facility offers a range of products including gutters, siding, and outdoor living items, as indicated on the company’s website.
Kauffman emphasizes that the showroom plays a vital role for Lansing, stating, “We really enjoy creating interactive moments with our customers and vendors.” Additionally, the company organizes “lunch and learns” focusing on installations and new products for its vendor partners.
Lansing Building Products also maintains branches in Manatee County and Fort Myers, each approximately 40 miles from the new North Port location.
Lansing Building Products will create 15 jobs at its North Port branch, according to economic development officials.
Situated in the North Port Business Park, developed by Benderson Development, the branch is located off Toledo Blade Boulevard near the I-75 exit. The park currently features over 800,000 square feet of industrial and office space, with plans to expand to 1 million square feet upon completion.
A representative from Benderson earlier stated that the park aims to attract significant national companies by providing easy access to the interstate. Lansing Building Products is among a select few that pre-leased space at the four industrial and office buildings that became available in April, joining tenants like Wharton-Smith Construction Group and World Electric Supply.
