Sarasota Police officers are investigating a shooting on Friday, Sept. 12 that resulted in severe injuries to one man.
The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Watts Way just prior to 6 p.m. The victim, identified as an adult male driver, was discovered near First Street and Central Avenue. He was subsequently transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

As part of the investigation, three individuals are currently in custody and undergoing interviews with the police.
The investigation remains ongoing, and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes if traveling along Central Avenue.
