BRADENTON, Fla. – Authorities have arrested three teenagers more than two weeks following the tragic shooting death of a 15-year-old boy in Bradenton.
The backstory:
The Bradenton Police Department reported that Kayvon Dunbar was found fatally shot in the 400 block of 11th Ave. E on the evening of August 25.

According to police investigations, Dunbar was involved in a robbery attempt alongside 18-year-old Jeremiah Lilly, 17-year-old Zyquan Kit, and 15-year-old Star Stewart, who were planning to rob Kit’s drug dealer while attempting to distract him.
The drug dealer, noticing the teenagers approaching while masked and armed with two guns, fired in self-defense, leading to a confrontation where one of the suspects returned fire, resulting in Dunbar’s death.
The BPD has indicated that Lilly, Kit, and Stewart are facing felony murder charges due to their involvement in a felony at the time of Dunbar’s fatal shooting.
