SARASOTA — The Sarasota Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that unfolded early Sunday morning, August 31, at approximately 3:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Washington Boulevard (U.S. 301).

Initial reports suggest that multiple individuals were engaged in a physical altercation outside the location. During this confrontation, the suspect, identified as Grevil Vicente Bonilla Enamorado, 29, brandished a firearm and discharged it. Eyewitnesses intervened, managing to detain the suspect until law enforcement arrived. At this stage, no established connection has been found between the suspect and the victims involved.

Tragically, one woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a male victim was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and is currently reported to be in stable condition. Enamorado is expected to face serious charges, including homicide and aggravated battery with a firearm.
