Sarasota County Early Learning Coalition appoints new CEO

The Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County has appointed Alison Fraga as its new chief executive officer, with her official start date set for September 29.

Currently, Fraga serves as the chief development officer for the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, which is among the largest coalitions in Florida. In her current position, she manages communications, branding, community engagement, strategic partnerships, and development efforts. Notably, she has successfully secured over $2 million in annual grant funding to back early childhood programs and initiatives aimed at kindergarten readiness.

Before her role at Hillsborough County, Fraga was the chief advancement officer for the Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay. She is also involved with several nonprofit boards. Fraga holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource development from the University of Florida, along with an MBA certificate in nonprofit leadership from the University of Tampa.

Fraga takes over the role from founding CEO Janet Kahn, who retired earlier this year. She is the second individual to lead the organization throughout its 23-year existence.

Each year, the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County supports over 4,000 children and 155 childcare providers, overseeing the local early care and education system.
