FINAL: St. John Bosco blows past Manatee, 31-0, in one half; game called at halftime due to weather originally appeared on The Sporting News
BRADENTON, Florida, Aug. 22 — The St. John Bosco [Bellflower, CA] Braves stormed through Florida, leaving the Manatee [FL] Hurricanes in their wake. In a game cut short by weather, St. John Bosco dominated, achieving a stunning 31-0 victory.
Though the game clock showed limited action, the event was prolonged by a series of weather delays, especially the second one, which occurred during halftime as teams retreated to their locker rooms. With storms stubbornly hanging over Bradenton, officials optimally decided to end the game early.
By that point, the result was evident: the Braves showcased their prowess from the start. Sophomore quarterback Koa Malau’ulu threw for 121 yards and three touchdowns, completing 9 of 12 passes, demonstrating remarkable efficiency.
Next for St. John Bosco is a match against the Eastwood Troopers from El Paso, Texas, a comparatively lighter matchup before they gear up for a challenging game against the formidable St. Frances Academy [Baltimore, MD] Panthers, who are currently ranked No. 3.
Conversely, the Manatee team looks forward to a more balanced challenge against their local rivals, the Southeast [Bradenton, FL] Seminoles.
