Longboat Key Italian Restaurant Expands into Bradenton
Longboat Key’s Ventura’s Italian Kitchen, a family-owned restaurant known for its rustic charm, New York-style pizza, and handcrafted Italian dishes, has expanded into Bradenton, according to a news release.
Its newest location is at 4805 Cortez Road.
“We’re excited to bring our passion for cooking and family to the Bradenton community in our new open air kitchen,” said owner Debra Murphy. “Ventura’s isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a place where families gather, friends toast, and every meal feels like Sunday dinner.”
The Bradenton location will feature lunch and dinner daily, takeout and delivery, catering, and a cozy wine bar, and now offers gelato.
Adeline Announces Fall Closure
After three years in business, popular Sarasota restaurant Adeline will close its doors for good on Oct. 4.
The restaurant announced its closure in a Facebook post.
This closure will allow Adeline’s partners to pursue new culinary projects. Eddie Zaki plans to open a new restaurant and speakeasy in the same location with different partners, while Drew Adams will take the lead on a high-end culinary project in Sarasota.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from our guests over the past three years,” stated Eddie and Drew. “Adeline was a labor of love, and we are proud of what we accomplished. We’re excited for what’s next and hope our guests will join us on our new journeys.”
Whataburger Planning Second Manatee County Location
A year after filing paperwork for its first Manatee County location, Whataburger is already planning its second in the Bradenton area, according to the Bradenton Herald.
The Texas-based chain has filed to open a restaurant on Cortez Road, having already submitted plans to build a restaurant in the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour shopping plaza last year.
Michelin-Trained Chef Brings New Restaurant to Sarasota’s Southside Village
Southside Village has welcomed a new culinary venue. Alma de España recently opened at 1830 S. Osprey Ave., as reported by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
This restaurant serves Spanish tapas and grilled dishes, led by Chef Elier Rodriguez, who has extensive experience with Michelin-starred establishments across the country.
Midwest Scratch Kitchen Opening in UTC Area
Kitchen Social, a scratch kitchen brand from Ohio, is set to open a restaurant in the University Town Center area.
The venue will offer brunch, lunch, and dinner, aiming for a grand opening by Jan. 1, as reported by the Business Observer.
It will operate in a spacious 4,270-square-foot area in the West District at UTC, adjacent to Rocco’s Tacos.
