BRADENTON, Fla. — The Manatee Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller announced on Monday that the office is currently holding nearly $65,000 in unclaimed funds, which may belong to residents.
The annual list of unclaimed funds compiled by the Clerk includes 818 checks related to jury duty, court fee refunds, vendor invoices, and various court-related services. According to Florida law, if these funds remain unclaimed by September 1, 2025, the total amount of $64,914.35 will be forfeited.
“We encourage residents and vendors to check the list—your name might be on it,” said Angel Colonneso, Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. “It only takes a few minutes to claim what’s yours.”

Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”
South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) has expressed that it may be time to abolish homeowners associations completely. This comes amidst increasing public dissatisfaction regarding rising fees, expensive lawsuits, and even arrests connected to HOA disputes. Porras announced plans to consider filing legislation in the next session aimed at eliminating HOAs statewide.
