NOKOMIS, Fla. — A tragic single-vehicle crash in Nokomis has claimed the life of a woman, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
In this incident, a 70-year-old woman, who was the sole occupant of her vehicle, was driving west on SR-72, East of Daugherty Road. The FHP reported that she “failed to properly negotiate a left curve” on the roadway.
As a result, she veered off the road, crashed into a fence, and subsequently overturned. Despite being transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries, she was later pronounced dead.
This incident is currently under investigation.
“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”
South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) has suggested that it may be time to consider eliminating homeowners associations entirely, in light of complaints from Floridians regarding escalating fees, expensive lawsuits, and even arrests linked to HOA conflicts. He announced this week that he is contemplating introducing legislation in the next session aimed at abolishing HOAs statewide.
